Final Inc.

Final, as an audio manufacturer with many years of experience in headphone production, has always had profound insights into units and craftsmanship. Over the years, it has provided high-level and excellent products for a group of headphone enthusiasts. Among them, the D series flat-panel unit headphones have added the “Air Film Damping System, AFDS”to the already excellent flat-panel unit, enhancing the sense of low-frequency volume and realism, making the product line gain a lot of applause in the market. Coming to the fourth work of the D series, D7000, in addition to inheriting the brand’s top-notch and excellent unit craftsmanship, the team has also tried new things internally, combined with traditional Japanese paper fabric ear pads, and continued to inherit the top-notch earmuff technology.

New Designed Air Flim Damping System

As one of the top headphone manufacturers in Japan, Final has extremely deep technology for units. In the past, it has made comprehensive improvements to the structure of flat-panel units in order to enhance the sense of low-frequency volume and space of flat-panel headphones. Therefore, the “Air Film Damping System, AFDS”was developed. By adding a metal perforated plate between the magnet and the diaphragm, the internal airflow of the unit operation is used to drive the diaphragm, so that the diaphragm will not collide with the magnet and affect the sound. At the same time, the diaphragm can also have a larger tension, making the low-frequency volume feel deeper and more natural.

As the fourth work of the D series, D7000, the team has made new attempts on the “Air Film Damping System, AFDS” (air damping technology). From the original dual-magnetic structure, it is changed to a single-magnetic structure and performs push-pull actions at the same time. Therefore, the diaphragm has a larger activity space, and the amplitude of the diaphragm becomes larger, which can effectively create a more powerful low-frequency response and a sense of space.

Pinna-align Diffuser

Based on many years of experience in developing over-ear headphones, Final knows that different ear structures will affect the user’s listening experience with headphones. Therefore, the engineering team, through their own large ear data database, combined with the listening room in their own factory, conducted repeated tests and researched the acoustic design suitable for different ear shapes. At the same time, audio energy can be output through a specific space, effectively controlling the time difference to reach the ears, thereby creating a more three-dimensional and realistic listening experience.

Newly-developed open type earpads

Most headphones, both closed-back and opened-back headphones, have sealed earpads in order to extend the reproduction frequency to bass to compensate for the lack of bass reproduction capability of the driver unit.

However, in order to express the natural, expansive, high-quality bass, the driver unit itself must be capable of reproducing those low frequencies and paired together with breathable earpads. However, conventional planar magnetic drivers and most dynamic drivers suffer from the lack of low-frequency range when paired with breathable earpads.

With D series, the reproduction band of bass frequencies has been extended through AFDS, and it has become possible to sufficiently reproduce bass frequencies even with earpads that are not sealed tightly just with driver unit ability.

For the D7000, the earpads that greatly influence sound quality have been newly developed from Washi ,means, Japanese traditional paper, which has excellent durability, air permeability, moisture control, and antibacterial/odor-eliminating properties.

Sound Quality Comparison Between the D7000, D8000, and D8000 Pro Edition

The D7000, by redesigning the drivers including the newly developed "Pinna-Aligned Diffuser," achieves a sound that balances the rich, open bass and delicate high frequencies characteristic of the D8000 and D8000 Pro Edition. Additionally, it features high resolution in the vocal and string ranges, with a sound that feels slightly closer to the ear and is very smooth.

While the D8000 excelled in reproducing genres with a wide dynamic range, such as classical music, the D8000 Pro Edition is tuned to provide a higher sense of resolution when listening to genres with a narrower dynamic range, such as pop and rock. The D7000 is positioned somewhat in between these two, offering a balanced performance.
