The brand considers the driver to be the "soul and heart" of a headphone. To ensure the D8000 DC Pro Edition delivers a sound signature distinct from previous models, the planar driver used in this headphone has been specifically redesigned.
For the D8000 DC Pro Edition, the brand adopts a single-magnet planar driver. This design leverages the unique characteristics of the driver, utilizing a single-sided magnet to generate a push-pull motion. This allows the diaphragm greater freedom of movement, enhancing air displacement. As a result, the D8000 DC Pro Edition achieves deeper, more resonant bass responses while also delivering smoother and more extended high frequencies.
At the same time, final understands that traditional planar drivers, due to the extremely close distance between the diaphragm and the magnets, are prone to collisions during high volume and large dynamic ranges, which can negatively affect sound quality. This also makes it difficult for headphones to achieve stable low-frequency performance and natural frequency transitions.
To address these common issues in traditional planar drivers, the brand developed the A.F.D.S. (Air Film Damping System) technology while designing the D series planar headphones. This technology involves adding perforated metal plates on both sides of the diaphragm, allowing air to pass through the small holes during diaphragm movement. This drives the entire diaphragm and enables the headphones to deliver more natural musical details, while also achieving deeper and more stable low-frequency performance.
In the D8000 DC Pro Edition , final adopts a new concentric circle design for the perforated plates, precisely aligning them with the coils on the diaphragm. This ensures even force distribution across the diaphragm, further enhancing the smoothness of its push-pull motion, allowing every detail in the music to be faithfully reproduced.
In addition to the newly designed planar driver and A.F.D.S. air damping technology, the brand has also upgraded the headphone's exterior design. Notably, a set of circular vents has been added to the headphone housing, allowing greater airflow for the driver, resulting in exceptional spatial performance.
At the same time, a newly developed diffusion structure is implemented inside the headphones, along with the brand's newly designed diffusion plate. Together with the driver and housing design, this achieves an even wider sense of space and precise soundstage positioning.
In the two new models, final has further refined its proprietary Type-H earpads, specifically enhancing their thickness. This adjustment ensures that the sound-producing components of the headphones maintain a certain distance from the ears, providing users with a stronger sense of space and immersion. Additionally, the use of washi fabric, known for its high breathability and comfort, ensures a comfortable wearing experience even during extended listening sessions.
With its new design, the D8000 DC Pro Edition offers users clear and intimate vocals, detailed instrument reproduction, and an immersive soundstage. This allows users to better perceive the intricate structure of details in pop, blues, and jazz music, enhancing the overall listening experience.
The D8000 DC Pro Edition is equipped with the brand's proprietary silver-coated copper cable. This cable, co-developed by final and Junkosha, features a core designed for rapid signal transmission. As a result, it provides the headphones with a wide soundstage and higher density in sound details. With the unique properties of this material, the D8000 DC Pro Edition can precisely reproduce every musical detail, delivering accurate vocal articulation and instrument performance.
