In The Divine Comedy, Dante travels through the three realms under the guidance of the Roman poet Virgil and his beloved Beatrice. Each realm is vividly illustrated through poetic imagery. Reflecting this, the Dante IEM features a tri-hybrid driver system: 1 dynamic driver, 6 balanced armatures, and 2 electrostatic drivers—intended to sonically capture the essence of Dante’s odyssey.

For the low frequencies, Dr. John selected an 8mm magnesium-aluminum alloy dynamic driver with a dual magnetic circuit. The lightweight properties of this alloy, combined with the dual-magnet design, deliver excellent transient response—granting the bass both power and precision. Every nuance emerges distinctly, like the nine circles of Hell etched in sonic detail.

For the mids, two Sonion balanced armature drivers were selected, while two Sonion electrostatic drivers handle the highs—offering refined, articulate vocals and instrument separation. The seamless frequency transition mimics the fluid passage between realms, creating an immersive auditory experience.

To render the sublime heights of Paradise, four custom Knowles balanced armature drivers are dedicated to the ultra-high frequencies. These extend gracefully, delivering an airy and expansive treble that places the listener in the Empyrean—the highest celestial sphere—where music becomes a medium for spiritual serenity.
