Until now, wired xMEMS technology has been limited due to the need for a specialized high bias amplifier. In order to expand the accessibility of the xMEMS drivers and unique sound signature, Noble has incorporated a high bias amplifier into the IEM itself which eliminates the need for additional equipment to enjoy them. The XM-1 can be used with any smartphone utilizing a USB-C port or an Apple lightning port when the included ddHiFi TC28i lightning to USB-C adapter is used.
The XM-1 features the xMEMS Cowell tweeter paired with an 8.3mm Dynamic driver for the low end. The resulting sound is astoundingly clear mids and highs as is expected with the xMEMS Cowell, coupled with full bass extension, previously lacking in xMEMS products.
In addition to using high-quality, high-fidelity driver combinations, the XM-1 further enhances sound performance by utilizing aluminum for the earphone casing and selecting stainless steel for the sound nozzle. Due to the high rigidity of aluminum, its properties can be harnessed to suppress the harmonic resonance that occurs when the driver is operating. Combined with the high stability of the stainless steel nozzle, this effectively complements the driver's ability to deliver outstanding and highly accurate sound reproduction.
To create a rich environment with detailed soundscapes and a sense of envelopment, besides employing driver modules that are both responsive and dynamic, the choice of cable material is equally important. To better present every subtle sound detail, Noble Audio has selected audiophile-grade cables made with silver-plated copper as the core conductor for the XM-1. The cable is constructed using an eight-strand braided design and features a Type-C connector for the player, along with a 4-Pin headphone interface. These aspects ensure that both the driver modules and the internal DAC are separately powered, allowing for high-quality sound reproduction of each audio signal.
